Jonathan

Availability: Sept. - May

Uses: Fresh and Baked

Flavor: Sweet-Tart

Discovered as a chance seedling in Woodstock, New York, in 1826, Jonathan’s are suitable for fresh eating and processing. Michigan’s cooler climate has proven ideal for growing this crimson apple (with touches of green and yellow). Jonathan’s spicy tang blends well with other varieties in sauces and cider.
